  • Ciudad Colonial

    Ciudad Colonial

    La Ciudad Colonial is the historic center of Santo Domingo, with many of the first landmarks in the Americas, including the first cathedral, hospital and university. It's also home to the Columbus Fortress. Today you’ll find museums, galleries, and chocolate workshops throughout its streets.

  • Los Tres Ojos

    A series of clear lagoons inside caves, resembling cenotes. This place is inside a National Park near Santo Domingo, that can be reached easily from the city. Note that you can’t swim here.

  • El Malecón

    The stretch of coastal avenue that runs along Santo Domingo's waterfront. It's popular for running/biking with a view. You can get there on foot from Ciudad Colonial, but crossing the streets is definitely a dexterity exercise.

  • Salto de Socoa

    Salto de Socoa is a hidden waterfall surrounded by tropical forest, about an hour from Santo Domingo. It's easy to reach by car, with parking available at the entrance and local guides on site.

  • Muchas Aguas

    A natural swimming spot an hour from Santo Domingo via Cambita Garabitos. You can either park your car at the entrance ($200 DOP) and a local guide will drive you with a 4×4 ($200 DOP p/p) to the start of the hike of 40 mins up to El Barco or talk to this local guide.

  • Ocoa Bay

    A bit unusual, OcoaBay near Palmar de Ocoa is the Caribbean's only sustainable vineyard, set against the sea and mountains. The drive takes you through the Dominican south. The property offers wine tasting, a restaurant, and scenic trails.
